If we were having coffee, it would be very late, or maybe you might think of it as very early. It’s almost 1 AM and I’m in Seattle at my son’s house for the baby shower I am putting on for my daughter-in-law. I’m tired from all the prep over the past week or so and the drive and then the socializing with Sarah’s mom and dad, then cooking. I was lucking because Sarah and Tony wanted to help so we knocked off about five dozen enchiladas in no time. That should be enough for the shower then dinner tomorrow night, I think. All the favors are put together and wrapped. Candy boxes…check! Presents wrapped…almost all are done. I need to pick up some batteries for one of the gifts and run to Starbucks for a couple of gift cards for game prizes. And I made some really cute buttons. I’ll try to post the picture at the end of this post.
Then Sunday I will drive back home. Tina and her family come in tomorrow and will be staying for several days. It will be kind of nice to be at home and know I am not going to be called to babysit or go any place with them. I need the peace and quiet…at least for a few days!
Not a whole lot new. I’ve just been working on all of the ongoing projects. Once the shower is over tomorrow, I think I might be able to catch my breath! At least it looks that way right now. I’m looking forward to sleeping in and reading the book I started weeks ago and haven’t been able to touch in days!
Oh, I didn’t tell you guys but if you are a Facebook friend you might have read it…on Thursday night a bottle of homemade wine exploded in my kitchen and beside a smelly, stick mess all over, I also had lots and lots of glass in varying sizes all over the kitchen, laundry room, hallway, and living room. That glass exploded with such force that it ricocheted against walls and appliances to land in places that it couldn’t have because of the angles! And I cut my foot. I’ve got one good sized gash (probably an inch and a half) on one of my toes. There are also lots of little tiny cuts on my legs. I was standing about six inches away from the bottle when it exploded. I was lucky to not be hurt any more than the cut on my toe! It also scared the heck out of me!
Well, I guess I should try to rest and sleep a bit. The seven o’clock alarm will be sounding sooner than I think. There’s a lot of set up for the shower and it will be a long, long day! In the meantime, tell me what is up with you. I will come read your posts as soon as I can get to them!
