Today is National Margarita Day! That’s my favorite drink. If I order a cocktail when I’m out, it’s a Margarita. I probably won’t go out today but I’m thinking maybe I’ll make my own. I have mix and some José Cuervo Gold.
I love the drink so much that when I was pregnant the first two times, I wanted to name the baby Margarita but my ex didn’t go alone. He had veto power.
I love this song…love to think of sitting somewhere looking at the beach (not on the beach, though) and sipping on a Margarita. So…cheers!
Oh, that song never fails to make me smile. Just a fun, laid back song.
Cheers!

Margaritas are delicious (and so easy to make). Cheers, Corina! 🙂

Mix? No, you’re not a real Margarita lover 😉 Hand squeeze the limes (you can cheat and use lime juice, but be careful), a shot of Triple Sec or Grand Marnier and a little agave syrup. And of course the tequila. Shake in a tumbler with ice cubes. Yum.
The mixes often use egg! My sister is ultra-allergic to egg and has to ask in restaurants. The egg makes it slightly frothy or foamy.

I’m not a real drinker so I never have triple sec or Grand Marnier. Heck I never have lime juice, either! So it’s mix for me, unless I plan ahead but I haven’t done that in forever!

I really don’t drink very much, which is why when I do I go for the good stuff 😉 About 3 years ago my parents brought me to a little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that made Margaritas right – I never really cared for them before then. After that I bought the ingredients and experimented until I discovered the perfect Margarita. Very fresh lime juice is key. Last summer I made them about 5 or 6 times. They taste great, but I can only drink one – there’s a lot of tequila, and you know the saying – one tequila, two tequila, three tequila floor….

I actually found Grand Marnier in a “shaker kit” that I bought to use for travel. Hhm. Might try that. I don’t drink a lot. When I do I stick to beer or wine, usually. But I really do love a good Margarita. I also love pina coladas and mojitos, and just plain old rum and Coke!

I’m not a margarita lady, but I know a few friends who love it.

Despite my weakness for rum, the Margarita is my favorite drink followed by a pina colada, a mojito, or a plain old rum and Coke!

I feel like your Ex made the right veto choice there…
HOWEVER – I had a cat name Tequila and I see no reason not to name a pet Margarita. In fact I’m kind of feeling like that might be on the list for my next cat.

My daughter now wishes she had been named Margarita because she could be a Maggie! It would have been perfect with my married name (Martinez) but my ex said it would be “too ethnic”. It’s a pretty neat sounding name if you pronounce it in Spanish!

You know, with the Martinez it is cool sounding.

I love that drink too. Very much. But here, I don’t often have the opportunity to drink it.

The next time I have one, I’ll have one for you, too!

I love the song Margaritaville, but the drink itself has never been a favourite of mine.
I’m more of a Martini girl myself 🙂
