Well, we were supposed to have coffee this weekend but it seems that it is not likely to happen. I’ve been sick in bed since Friday. I think I caught the bug that the boys and Tina had early last week. I have not had all of the symptoms but that’s because I felt so weak that I went straight to bed and slept almost non-stop from Friday at about 4 until 8 am on Saturday then again from about then until after midnight and again from 2 am til 11 am today, Sunday. No eating. So we’ll see what happens when I try to eat. I’m not as weak as I felt on Friday or yesterday so that’s a good sign, I hope!
Not wanting to get you sick, I would put it off til next weekend! I’m having to cancel on Allison and Sabina. We were supposed to get together for lunch to celebrate Allison’s birthday tomorrow but I really don’t want to take the chance that I might get them sick. Neither of them can afford to be sick right now, Allison with work and Sabina with going back to school. Nope, not a good time to get sick! I’ll have to make it up to Allie some day soon.
It has been an interesting week. This time last week I was house sitting for my son. It went very well. I didn’t burn down the house or anything! Success! The drive back was quite stressful with non-stop rain and wind which made it scary then entire four hours (it should actually be only three hours but it was a SLOW drive). I got home to the boys just getting over their bouts with a stomach bug and Tina starting to get sick. I was able to help out Tuesday through Thursday but then on Friday afternoon when I went over, I felt very weak and my stomach was upset so I came back home after we ran a couple of errands. And I slept. And slept. And slept some more. It wasn’t until late last night that I discovered that Hulu has a free preview weekend for Showtime so I tuned in to Homeland. I only get to watch that when I go to Seattle. I’m only starting Season 3 and I think they are on Season 5. I’m going to try to stay awake to watch at least the rest of the third season before the free weekend is up.
I haven’t read since I left Seattle. No time. No energy. However, I must tell you that I am truly enjoying Searching For Malumba by Luther Siler. It is a collection of essays that pretty much document his teaching career. It is filled with humor, frustration, anger, and critique of the education system in America. I recommend it highly. It would make a great choice for the collection of essays category for the Read Harder Challenge for those of you participating in that.
Well, my eyes are about to shut so I bid you adieu. I will come around and read your posts as I am able to.
