Yay, I got to 40 on my last post. This one will have the last 10, which are more serious, and the bonus 10 which are the silly ones!
(41) I am thankful for the medical care that I received when I got sick last March. And when you think of it, or when I think of it, it all started to fall apart when I took that fall at my local Starbucks so (42) would be thankful for Starbucks or my medical situation might not have come to a screeching halt in March, which brings me to (43) the April surgery. Recuperating alone (44) gave me a lot of time to think and appreciate how lucky I actually am.
(45) I’m happy that I have a roof over my head…and that it isn’t just a roof but an actual housed! I don’t know what the future holds as my income goes to zero in May but I have (46) faith that something will happen and I will be able to make ends meet, at least until my daughter decides if we are moving to Omaha, or some place else. (47) The fact that I have the three kids reassures me because I’ve raised them to take care of family and I think that if push comes to shove, they will provide. Technology (which is #48) will also help me as I may be able to make (#49) mind work for me from home to help me make some kind of income. I have (50) possibilities. The doors are not closed.
(51) Colored ink makes me smile and (52) an abundance of writing journals makes me happy. (53) Purple hair! I didn’t tell you that I got a streak of purple in my otherwise darkest brown hair last week. I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time and I finally got the (54) courage to do it! I’m thankful for (55) all-weather shoes that let me go out in the rain so I am not housebound during our rainy season from October to April! (56) I am thankful for Lactaid milk and pills which allow me to enjoy milk/dairy products without a lot of discomfort. My warm pjs come #57. They are so comfy that I have had two pj days since I got them two weeks ago…and I don’t believe in pj days!
The $5 a seat on all showings before 6 PM theater comes in at #58. It lets me take Anderson to see first run movies at an affordable price (don’t tell anyone that we sneak in our own snacks). In fact, they are showing the new Star Wars movie and although I said I would not go wait in line for it, I just might…for $5, why not? And Anderson might just like it!
And my “womanly side” would be remiss to not mention (59) my favorite actor, Andy Garcia who hasn’t made a movie in a while but I still love to see him and play his movies often!
(#60) I am glad that I never tried anything that would have fried my brain when I was young because that means that now my brain, as goofy as it may be, is unfried, unadulterated, pure me!
If you want to do your own 50 Things post, here’s the “rules” for the link up:
If you’d like to join in, here’s how it works: set a timer for 10 minutes; timing this is critical. Once you start the timer, start your list (the timer doesn’t matter for filling in the instructions, intro, etc). The goal is to write 50 things that made you happy in 2015, or 50 thing that you feel grateful for. The idea is to not think too hard; write what comes to mind in the time allotted. When the timer’s done, stop writing. If you haven’t written 50 things, that’s ok. If you have more than 50 things and still have time, keep writing; you can’t feel too happy or too grateful! When I finished my list, I took a few extra minutes to add links and photos.
To join us for this project: 1) Write your post and publish it (please copy and paste the instructions from this post, into yours) 2) Click on the blue frog at the very bottom of Tales From the Motherland’s post. 3) That will take you to another window, where you can past the URL to your post. 4) Follow the prompts, and your post will be added to the Blog Party List. Please note: the InLinkz will expire on January 15, 2015. After that date, no blogs can be added.
Please note that only blog posts that include a list of 50 (or an attempt to write 50) things that made you feel Happy or 50 things that you are Grateful for will be included. Please don’t add a link to a post that isn’t part of this exercise; I will remove it. Aside from that one caveat, there is no such thing as too much positivity. Share your happy thoughts, your gratitude; help us flood the blogosphere with both!
