If we were having coffee, it might have to be decaf as, again, I’m getting to this after 6 PM! And to think that I almost started writing this at 10 PM last night but thought it was too soon to write it! Next time I will know!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I hope the “whirlwind” that has been sweeping through my life is over soon, or at least slows down. I need a break. I have been going full speed for so long that I am exhausted. I even quipped on Facebook last week about how I needed Geritol! They still make it, I checked. I ended up getting a B Complex vitamin that seems to be helping with the fatigue. Yay! Perhaps I can be back to normal soon.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that last week, just a couple of hours after I posted my coffee share post, I got a call from my sister in southern California saying that she thought she was having a heart attack and the paramedics were there but she wanted me to know so I could call my mother back in a few minutes. My mom was hysterical in the background. She doesn’t have phone numbers written anywhere that she can read (very bad eye sight) and she no longer has her own cell phone (because she couldn’t get used to the touch screen on the one I gave her so she cancelled the cell service) so she couldn’t call anyone for help. So I got on the phone and called my niece who lives a few miles from my mother so she could go see if my mom was okay. All of that took hours sorting out and getting someone to go stay with my mom and my nephew (who is 16 and severely autistic and was very agitated, having seen the paramedics take his mom away on the ambulance) so my niece could go to the hospital to check on my sister. In the end, we found out about 5 the next morning that it was not a heart attack. It was an “acute hypertension crisis” which mimicked a heart attack. So once they stabilized her in the ER, she was able to go home to bed rest and to see her doctor the next day.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that it was a very scary and frustrating thing to go through. I am 1200 miles away. Even if I had taken a plane, there wasn’t one until the next morning and then there would be a 90 minute drive from the airport! I’m glad she ended up being “okay” from this episode but she is not okay at all. She needs to do something about her blood pressure (she is on medication but it needs to be changed) and she is severely depressed. She has a lot of problems that she isn’t taking care of. She is one year older than I am. It is scary to think that we can los her, but we can.
If we were having coffee, I would have to mention Anderson! He loves school and riding the bus home! He doesn’t ride the bus in the mornings because it picks him up so early that he has to get up a full hour earlier so he is driven to school but then he rides home. The first day he rode the bus he had both of his parents and me waiting for him when he got off! Unfortunately, he came home sick on Wednesday so he missed Thursday and Friday. Hopefully he will be okay to go on Monday. He really likes school. He keeps asking me how to spell words then he finds the letters (on alphabet cards I made and laminated for him) and spells the words. He is also trying to sound out words. Yay!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I am enjoying the #GoPlay challenge by Nerd In the Brain over at her blog and you can still sign up. It”s still not too late. I have to get busy and get caught up submitting my challenges. And this weekend we are learning to play some games (Anderson wants to learn to play checkers, Old Maid, and some other games) which will all count toward the Go Play challenges. It’s a lot of fun! You should check it out.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I have a lot to say but I won’t take up any more of your time. I am currently reading two books, Orange Is the New Black and Benevolence Archives Volume 1 (by Luther Siler who was featured here). What are you reading? I have also been watching some of my favorite movies on Amazon Instant Video (the Godfather trilogy, To Kill A Mockingbird, and others). What have you been watching?
That’s it for today. Tell me about what you have been doing!
#WeekendCoffeeShare is a weekly blog hop hosted by Diana at Part Time Monster. Head over and check it out!
