If we were having coffee, I would welcome you for a quick chat and I would hope you would forgive me if I started to yawn. I would not be yawning because you were boring me. It’s just that I didn’t get any sleep last night. As I type this, it’s 11:15 PM on Saturday. On Friday, try as I might, I could not get to sleep. By the time the yawning came and I was able to close my eyes it was after 8:30 Saturday morning. And I woke up wide awake at 9:51 AM so I only slept a tiny bit over an hour. That’s it. No naps. Nothing. And it has been a busy day. So I am tired and I am sleepy. Please forgive me.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I made a rainbow colored tutu for Anderson’s little girlfriend who has her fourth birthday on Sunday. She loves rainbows and what little girl does not like tutus? So I made her one. It was very easy and I am impressed that I pulled it off. The part that took the longest was running around town getting my supplies. It’s a good thing tulle is cheap because I used all 7 colors of the spectrum, a yard each. I hope she’ll like it when she opens it at her party. I don’t have little grand daughters so I will have to do for others what I would do for mine, at least until I get a grand daughter.
The boys and I have been to the park every day this week, except Friday as I don’t watch them on Fridays. Tomorrow I am taking them to the birthday party which is at a park. So more park play! I am hoping that it is not as hot tomorrow as it has been. The park we will be at has no shade. So I’m crossing my fingers that it’s not horribly hot. Do me a favor and cross yours for me, too! 😉
This week I will be going to California for the memorial service. At least that’s the plan. It is next Saturday but I will be flying down there on Thursday so I can help with some of the cooking and anything else that I can help with. I may not get to post a coffee share next week but I will be thinking of all of you and I’ll come around to read what and when I can.
Midweek travel means it will be a busy week getting myself together for the trip. I’m going to make photo boards for the service so I am scanning and sending photos to Walgreens then I will pick them up and take them with me to assemble the boards down there. I did it for my brother’s service and it took hours but a lot of the photos are already scanned so I’m hoping it won’t take forever. Even if it does, it will be worth it because the photo boards capture my dad and our family during happy times and that’s what I want to think about right now.
No sleep last night has left me very tired and I think I will be getting myself to sleep now. I’m already nodding off. I’m just hoping that doesn’t mean that I will sleep for 4 hours then wake up. It will make me tired again by noon tomorrow.
Before I go, I want to tell you about a book I just finished last night. It’s called 600 Hours With Edward by Craig Lancaster. It is excellent. It’s about Edward who is an adult with Asperger’s who lives alone because his father doesn’t want him disrupting his home life. Edward takes us on a sad, yet hopeful and at times humorous trip that I would recommend that you take with him. There is also a second book, Edward Adrift. I actually read Edward Adrift last year, not knowing that there was a first book. I’m glad I read the first one even if I read them out of order.
You? What’s up? How’s your sleep cycle? Books? Movies? TV? Tell me!
