1. I have teens visiting. My niece’s son (17) and daughter (14) are here for the week. I’ll be driving them back to the SF Bay Area next week. I had forgotten how much teens sleep. Yesterday it was until almost noon. Today it is almost 2 pm and they are still asleep. They are supposed to be here so I can take them to do “stuff”. I can’t do that if they sleep all day.
2. My kitty cat, Molly, is mad at me. It seems that every time I go away for a few days, I return with someone to stay and visit for a few days. She doesn’t like strangers. I know she’s mad because she always comes running to my bed when I go to bed and the last two nights she hasn’t come in there at all. She has taken up to sleeping on top of my desk…all over the top of my desk, spreading all my stuff all over and down on to the floor. I’m wondering if she’ll ever come back to my bed, even when the company is gone!
3. While I was gone the past few days, one of the many feral cats in the neighborhood had kittens under my house. Now there is much kitty crying at all hours of the day and night. I’m sure my Molly doesn’t like that any more than the visiting relatives!
sounds like you are in worse shape than me corina,, kitties crying and dogs barking in the middle of the night.. my puppy is a barker,, she barks at ghosts in the morning,, and kept me up till midnight with it the other day,, but thank god it isnt an ongoing occurrence.. i am hoping it is something she will grow out of soon,, but only time will tell…
in the mean time try to have fun with your niece and nephew…

I wish I could sleep that long. Five hours and I’m ready to go!

You can’t say your life is dull, Corina. 🙂

I don’t think I slept anywhere near that much when I was a teenager. Maybe I didn’t stay up late enough to require it. 🙂

Teens can need as much as 15 hours of sleep a day, and it’s a complement to you that they’re that comfortable in your home.

Poor kitty, she’ll forgive you soon.

As a feral cat caretaker (aka crazy cat lady), may I advise that you attempt to trap the kittens as soon as they can viably be separated from mom? When they are still very young they have a chance at being socialized and being adopted. Too long without human interaction, you have yet another generation of ferals. And, at the very least, see if you can’t have them trapped and then neutered. If you need help find resources on how to do all this let me know.

I wouldn’t mind being able to sleep the day away again. I can’t seem to do it anymore.
Cats are like that, taking their revenge when we leave them or bring in strangers.

I remember staying up until 4 am, writing stories in my room, and my mom would come to my door, open it and say, “Bruja! Ya duermete!” LOL! Ah, those were the days! 🙂 Now I get sleepy at 8 pm. I may as well move to Florida and get it over with!
